The International Bedlam Society is casting gods, heroes, mortals, and more for Festival of Dionysus 2012.

Auditions by appointment Monday 12/12 – Wednesday 12/21.
Audition Location: The Electric Company, (ECO) 2042 w 21st St off the Damen pink line.

A six performance Equinox festival held in March, the Festival of Dionysus is a party for myth and mortals. Six ten-minute scripts will be performed throughout the night amongst a lush, tree-laden, classical environment at a party hosted by Dionysus and the Olympic gods themselves.

Twelve ensemble members will engage all six scripts and play multiple roles throughout the night. The stories portray classic Greek theatre favorites pulled from Aeschylus, Euripides, Sophocles, and more; retold for the modern, ADD and television-soaked audience.

Performances are Fridays and Saturdays for three weeks in March 2012 at mythical arts center near Roosevelt and Wabash. Rehearsals will be Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and some Saturdays.

Please prepare one classic and one comedic monologue and be prepared for dry reading or games. Bring headshot and resume.

The International Bedlam Society is calling for PHOTOS!
Specifically, we’ve got this original song called Who Has The Money? What we want you to do is submit a photo of someone holding up a sign that says WHO HAS THE MONEY? or any of the other lyrics. So then instead of video of us singing and eating, it will be a video of all the people who do NOT have the money.

Cordially Invites You To Participate In

Life Imitating Art

Your Guide:

1.The challenge is free & anyone may participate.

2.The challenge begins at 111 South Michigan Avenue at 5:00pm on Thursday June 3rd.

3.No more than four people per team.

4.You must provide your own camera.

5.NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY.

6.Find a work of art. Imitate it. Take a picture. Include the work of art in the picture.

7.Use portraits, group shots, sculptures, abstract art, or anything you can find in the museum.

8.NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY.

9.At 7:30pm the final challenge begins in Gallery 240 in front of A Sunday on La Grande Jatte.

10.A prize will be awarded for the team with the most qualifying poses.

11.A prize will be awarded for the team with the best photo.
