The International Bedlam Society and the Chicago Art Department are holding ensemble auditions for their Asylum Variety Show! Once a month for 6 months, we will host improv, sketch, musicians, comedians, and variety acts of all kinds. We have a lineup of skits, satire, audience interactive games, challenges, and prize giveaways. Ensemble members will host the shows, guide audience members, and have the opportunity to perform their own material while collaborating on group work. Each variety show has its own theme. Performance dates & themes are as follows:

Asylum Night- July 23rd
Church Night- August 20th
Mystery Night- September 24th
UFO Night- October 22nd
Musical Theatre Night- November 19th
Apocalypse Night- December 17th

Ensemble members may be cast in one variety show or as many as six depending on availability. Each night will feature a company of 6-8 actors.

Audition Requirements:

Actors, Improv, & Sketch
Please prepare one comedic monologue and bring your headshot and resume. For consideration in Musical Theatre Night please prepare one dynamic piece to sing a capella.

Performance Artists encouraged to apply; dancers, burlesque, fire, magicians, strange talents of all kinds!

Auditions: June 14th-17th by appointment
Callbacks: June 21st-22nd
